I love these people! The staff have such joy as they walk with you and show you the treasures in their inventory and the stories behind them. For those who value beautiful wood pieces with a history behind them, this is the place! I treat it like going to the candy store. On top of a fascinating inventory, the staff show sincere interest in not only the wood they sell you, but the wonderful things you will do with it. Check out this Red Oak from a 100 year old barn and another piece of oak from a tobacco curing barn, stained black from the resin and still imbued with that sweet smell of tobacco.

From the minute we walked into Good Wood Nashville we knew we had found the right place for our mantel we had been searching for. Josh greeted us with enthusiasm about our project and took us downstairs to show us the huge selection they have of beautiful wood. He also showed us the area where they make everything. Very impressive. Everyone we met during this process from picking out the wood, to the design, to the delivery and all the communication in between was amazing. Josh is truly passionate about what he does and it shows in his work. Our mantel is the crowning glory over our new fireplace and we also had shelves made with the left over walnut that are stunning. The bow ties they put in really add to the personality of each piece we had made. We are extremely pleased, a really wonderful experience.

Great experience. As an architect, I am familiar with Good Wood. My wife and I were renovating our kitchen and were set on a partial butcher block counter. Due to expense I reached out to Good Wood for advice. After some discussion and visiting the shop, I was sold on some salvaged Osage from a tree that fell during the 2020 tornado that swept through East Nashville. East Nashville residents ourselves, we loved the idea of the story to complete the kitchen. Guys at Good Wood were great to work with. To top it off, I learned that the tree the counter piece is made from belonged to someone I know very well. Makes the story richer.

Just got to see our finished fireplace mantle. One word - incredible! The craftsmanship was spot on. The reclaimed wood has beautiful detail. It is just what we wanted, a true focal point for our living room. The staff took the time to make sure they understood our needs. We highly recommend Good Wood

What a great company. I wanted some cool wood for a project, had never been here before, and Dave helped me find exactly what I needed. He worked with me on finding the right cuts and products, worked with me on my pricing, and gave me some advice and tips on the project I was working on.
I shopped during the COVID-19 pandemic, so Dave face-timed me, found some cool pieces in his shop that I could potentially use, then wheeled them on a cart to show me outside the store. Totally smooth and seamless time spent shopping here.
10/10 would recommend Good Wood to anyone.

Wonderful selection of slabs for custom projects. The team was extremely professional and skilled in regards to custom furniture. Will be using them again for future projects. Tara was a joy to deal with and highly recommend checking out their showroom!

I could shoot myself for not knowing this amazing business existed before yesterday. Wow. Located in a really cool old building, the top level has a beautiful showroom with a variety of incredible furniture, and fixtures such as wall hangings and other accessories. All hand made, locally. Easy to spend an hour on that level alone. Lots to see. Then you go downstairs. That's where the wood is. The moment I started down the stairs, the smells of wonderful old wood abandoned any sense of maturity that I had to that point. Like a kid in the proverbial candy store with money left on a gift card, I must have walked around that level a dozen times and I'm STILL not satisfied I saw it all. The owner told me it's his dream come true. What's amazing about that is by making his dream come true, he's enabling others to do the same. Call me a repeat customer. Even though I've only been there once, my mind has been there hundreds of times over.

Great company. Very friendly and professional. The quality of woodwork that they make the is subpar to none. You will enjoy this furniture for a lifetime and your grandchildren will pass it down to their children. I had a gentleman Chris who worked with me and made some truly treasured pieces that I hope to pass to my children. Looking forward to what the future has in store for this company.
